This article describes EchoMark Screen's watermarking policy and settings.
Screen watermarking settings enable EchoMark users to customize how visible and invisible watermarks appear on end-user devices.
Policies
A screen watermarking policy represents a discrete set of settings that can be applied to a group of end-user devices. Additional policies can be created via the “Add policy” button. If a device or device-group has screen watermarking enabled, but does not have an explicit policy assigned, then the “Default” policy will be selected and applied.
Policy: Details
The “Details” tab of a policy contains basic information about the policy. A user-friendly name and description may be added. This tab also includes the policy id, which can be used in device or device-group configuration.
Policy: Visible watermark
The “Visible watermark” tab of a policy allows users to configure a text overlay on top of EchoMark Screen. On the left, a preview of your settings can be seen; here, you can compare what is currently deployed in production with your current draft as well as compare what your settings might look like on light and dark mode screens. On the right, you may select from one of our preconfigured templates, or you may select “Custom” to further tune your policy to your desired settings.
If no visible watermark is desired for a particular policy, then uncheck the Visible watermark option and save the policy.
Policy: Overlay settings
The core feature of EchoMark Screen is the unique overlay that appears on the end-user’s device screen. The relative opacity can be adjusted to suit the use-case of the policy. Note: while EchoMark is confident in its watermarking, higher opacity will tend to yield more robust results in leak detection.
