An invisible watermark is set of proprietary techniques that EchoMark uses to apply subtle visual perturbations to messages and files. While imperceptible to the human eye, these perturbations can be identified using our computer vision detector if a screenshot or photo of the message or document is leaked. EchoMark's current features allow you to invisibly watermark PDFs and email messages. Please contact us for support of other document types.
Limitations
There are a few limitations to our invisible watermarking technology today that will eventually be lessened or removed as we add features to the watermarking system.
- Pages or messages without text, or with very little text, cannot be invisibly watermarked. A page must contain enough text that EchoMark can embed an invisible watermark within the text content.
- Images and vector graphics cannot be invisibly watermarked yet. If your content contains images, we cannot embed a watermark in it or protect the images against leaks via screenshots.
- Rasterized PDF pages (e.g. scanned documents that have not been converted to text) cannot be watermarked because the text in them is embedded in an image.
- Vector graphics cannot be watermarked at this time either.
