Overview
These instructions enable connections to EchoMark but no email will be routed through those connections until you complete all steps outlined in the instructions: Configure Email Integration for Google Workspace
1. Ensure you have correct privileges
Before starting, ensure that you are a Super admin for your Google Workspace account and that you have an EchoMark Enterprise account with admin privileges. Both are required to complete the process.
2. Add an Outbound route
Begin by navigating to the Hosts page of your Workspace Admin console, then follow the steps below:
- From the Hosts page, click Add route, then from the dialog that appears set the following fields:
Name
Outbound to EchoMark Host name or IP smtp.app.echomark.com Port 25 -
Then press Test TLS connection. You should receive a green confirmation message.
- Once your connection has been confirmed, press Save.
3. Add an Inbound SMTP relay service
Begin by navigating to the Routing page of your Workspace admin console, then follow the steps below:
- Scroll to the section titled SMTP relay service and press Configure (or Add Another Rule if you already have Routing Rules)
- Set the name to "Inbound from EchoMark"
- Check the Only accept mail from specified IP addresses checkbox
- Under IP addresses, press Add
- In the resulting dialog set the following fields:
Description EchoMark 1 Enter IP address/range 54.149.36.89 - Press Save.
- Repeat steps 4-6 with the following parameters:
Description EchoMark 2 Enter IP address/range 44.236.219.44 - Press Save.
4. Disable Comprehensive mail storage (if applicable)
EchoMark is not compatible with Google's Comprehensive mail storage feature. If you're using this feature, you'll need to disable it for EchoMark to function properly.
- In the Google Admin console, Go to the Menu on the upper left, then Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Compliance
- Select an organization
- Scroll to Comprehensive mail storage and click on that entry.
- Make sure Ensure a copy of all sent and received... is unchecked, (turned off)
- Save your settings
5. Create envelope sender group(s) (optional)
When sending to large groups, it's helpful to have a designated envelope sender address in order to catch any bounced emails. This should be a Workspace Group called dsn-notices with the address dsn-notices@yourdomain.com. You'll need a separate group for each domain using EchoMark (ie. dsn-notices@domain1.com, dsn-notices@domain2.com, etc.). When you create the group, add your EchoMark admin to it so they can monitor bounced messages, and be sure to let us know you've set it up.
6. Continue with setup
